Terms of Service

Roamii Terms of Service aka "The Legal Stuff."

Effective Date: August 9th 2026 | Last Updated: August 9th 2026

1. AGREEMENT, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, AND ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our services, including the Roamii mobile application, website, and any other service or product contained or offered therein (collectively the "Service") that are owned or controlled by Roamii L.L.C. ("Roamii," "we," "us," and "our").

These Terms affect your legal rights, responsibilities, and obligations; govern your use of the Service; are legally binding; limit Roamii's liability to you; and require you to indemnify Roamii and to settle certain disputes through arbitration. Your acceptance of, and compliance with, these Terms is a condition to your use of our Service. You understand and accept that we may, in our sole discretion, terminate your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.

We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. By continuing your use of the Service after changes are posted, you agree to the updated Terms. It is your responsibility to check periodically for any changes we may make to these Terms.

By clicking "accept," creating an account, joining a trip, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and accept all terms and conditions contained within these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these Terms or the Privacy Policy, don't use the Service. Your agreement to our Privacy Policy is captured separately during account creation.

2. WHAT ROAMII IS — AND ISN'T

Roamii is a group travel coordination tool. It helps travelers, chaperones, Trip Leadership, and organizations coordinate logistics, share photos, manage expenses, and stay connected during trips.

ROAMII IS NOT A SAFETY GUARANTEE. While the Service includes features designed to support group coordination and awareness — such as check-ins, location sharing, and boundaries — Roamii does not guarantee the physical safety of any user. The Service is a communication and coordination tool, not a replacement for personal judgment, emergency services, or the duty of care owed by chaperones and organizations to their travelers.

IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AN EMERGENCY, CONTACT LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES IMMEDIATELY. Do not rely on Roamii to summon help in an emergency situation.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENT

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service. We enforce this through date of birth verification at signup. If you are under 18, you may not use Roamii.

By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

We are working to make Roamii available to younger users in the future. When we are confident we can do so safely, we will update these Terms and announce the change.

4. YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration

  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others

  • Notify us immediately at support@roamii.app if you believe your account has been compromised

  • Not create more than one account or create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information provided is found to be inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of these Terms.

5. HOW ROAMII WORKS

Trips

Roamii is organized around trips. There are two main types:

  • Friend trips — Created by any user for peer groups traveling together. Everyone is equal. There is no supervision hierarchy, no photo approval queue, and no chaperone oversight. Friend trips include shared itineraries, polls, expense splitting, photo sharing, and optional location sharing. All members have the same permissions.

  • Supervised trips — Created by an independent chaperone or by an organization through the Roamii dashboard. These trips include safety features such as check-ins, photo approval queues, boundaries, and role-based oversight by chaperones and Trip Leadership.

You can create a trip directly in the app or join a trip using a trip code provided by a friend, organizer, chaperone, or organization.

Roles

Your role within a trip determines what you can see and do. Roles include Traveler, Chaperone, Trip Leadership, Trip Support, and Organization Administrator. Your role is determined by how you join a trip — the same person may hold different roles on different trips. Role-based permissions are enforced at the database level and cannot be bypassed through the app interface.

Location Data

Roamii collects location data during active trips to support coordination and safety features including check-ins and boundaries. Who can see your location depends on your role and the trip type. Our Privacy Policy and Trust & Safety page explain exactly what is collected, who sees it, and when it is deleted.

Photos and Content

On organization and supervised trips, check-in photos go through an approval queue before reaching the group feed. Trip Leadership reviews photos to protect against inappropriate content. Our Sensitive Content Policy explains what is and isn't appropriate on Roamii.

Expenses

Roamii includes tools for splitting expenses among trip members. Roamii does not process payments directly — we calculate what people owe each other, and settlement happens outside the app between users. Roamii is not responsible for disputes between users regarding expense accuracy or payment.

6. PAYMENTS AND PRICING

Roamii does not currently charge for use of the Service. We may introduce per-trip fees in the future, which would vary based on trip length and group size, and some trips would remain free. If we do, pricing will be displayed before you complete trip creation, and these Terms will be updated before any charge is made. If and when purchases become available, they will be final, with refunds issued at Roamii's sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@roamii.app with any billing question.

For organizations using Roamii under a separate organizational contract, payment terms are governed by that contract.

7. WE NEVER SELL YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Roamii does not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. Not your location data. Not your photos. Not your movement patterns. Not your trip details. This commitment is permanent and cannot be weakened through an update to these Terms.

We do use aggregated, non-personal data internally to improve the Service. This data cannot be tied back to any individual user and is never shared outside Roamii.

For complete details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

8. USER CONTENT

When you use Roamii, you may submit content including check-in photos, profile photos, expense descriptions, poll responses, and chat messages ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant Roamii a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your User Content solely in connection with operating and improving the Service. This means we can show your check-in photo to your trip group, display it in the approval queue for Trip Leadership, and show approved photos to parent portal viewers — but we won't use your photos for advertising, sell them, or share them outside the context of your trip.

You are responsible for all User Content you submit. You agree not to submit any content that:

  • Is false, inaccurate, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harassing, or fraudulent

  • Contains nudity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence

  • Violates the privacy, copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights of any person or entity

  • Depicts or promotes illegal activity

  • Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code

  • Violates our Sensitive Content Policy

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or our policies, with or without notice.

9. ORGANIZATIONAL TRIPS

If you are using Roamii as part of a trip organized by a third-party organization (travel company, school, youth group, or similar), the following applies:

  • Your organization may have additional rules and policies that apply to your conduct during the trip and your use of the Service

  • Trip Leadership and organization administrators can view your check-in status, approve or reject your photos, and access your location data as described in our Privacy Policy

  • Roamii may share information about policy violations with your organization's administrators when those violations affect their travelers or trip

  • Your organization's contract with Roamii governs the relationship between Roamii and the organization — these Terms govern the relationship between Roamii and you as an individual user

10. PARENT PORTAL

On supervised and organization trips, travelers may provide a code that grants a parent or guardian access to a limited view of their trip experience. Parent portal users can see approved check-in photos only. They cannot see location data, trip chat, expenses, or other trip details.

Parent portal access is granted by and can be revoked by the traveler. By using the parent portal, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that the content you see has been approved through Roamii's moderation process.

11. ACCESS, SECURITY, AND RESTRICTIONS

You are prohibited from violating or attempting to violate the security of the Service, including:

  • Accessing data not intended for you or logging onto an account you are not authorized to access

  • Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our system or network

  • Using any scraper, crawler, spider, robot, or other automated means to access or copy data from the Service

  • Interfering or attempting to interfere with the Service or any activity being conducted on the Service

  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any part of the Service

Violations of system or network security may result in civil or criminal liability. Roamii will investigate occurrences that may involve such violations and may cooperate with law enforcement authorities.

12. OWNERSHIP OF SERVICE

The Service and all of its content — including text, design, graphics, logos, icons, images, code, and software — are proprietary and owned by Roamii or our licensors and are protected by United States and international intellectual property laws.

You may not modify, copy, distribute, reproduce, publish, sell, or otherwise use any content from the Service for any purpose not expressly authorized by these Terms or by written consent from Roamii.

13. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

By creating an account, you consent to receive communications from us electronically, including emails, push notifications, and in-app messages. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications we provide electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.

14. LINKS TO THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. Roamii does not control and is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party service. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Roamii.

15. DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

ROAMII DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. ROAMII DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

ROAMII IS A COORDINATION AND COMMUNICATION TOOL. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE PHYSICAL SAFETY OF ANY USER. Features such as check-ins, location sharing, and boundaries are designed to support group awareness and coordination but are not substitutes for personal judgment, supervision, or emergency services. Roamii is not liable for any harm, injury, loss, or damage arising from or related to any trip, travel activity, or interaction between users.

ROAMII WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF USE, OR UNAUTHORIZED INTERCEPTION OF INFORMATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SERVICE IS TO STOP USING THE SERVICE. ROAMII'S MAXIMUM LIABILITY FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES, AND CAUSES OF ACTION SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO ROAMII IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT SUCH LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY.

16. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Roamii, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against all claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

17. DISPUTE RESOLUTION AND ARBITRATION

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court. You and Roamii agree to waive the right to a trial by jury and the right to participate in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.

60-Day Notice Period: Before initiating arbitration, you must send a written description of your claim to Roamii at legal@roamii.app. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days. If we cannot resolve it informally, either party may proceed to arbitration.

Arbitration shall be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in Texas, or at another mutually agreed location. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

Small Claims Exception: Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court instead of arbitration, provided the claim falls within the court's jurisdiction.

18. ACCOUNT TERMINATION

We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Service without notice if:

  • You materially violate these Terms or any Roamii policy

  • Your conduct poses a risk to the safety of other users or the integrity of a trip

  • Your account has been inactive for twenty-four (24) months (we will send a warning email 30 days before any action is taken, giving you the opportunity to log in and keep your account active)

  • Required by law or for reasons outside our control

On organization trips, account actions may be coordinated with your organization's administrators.

You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting support@roamii.app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

19. COPYRIGHT POLICY

Roamii respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please contact:

Please include: a description of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

20. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Governing Law. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Sensitive Content Policy, and any applicable organizational contract, constitute the entire agreement between you and Roamii regarding the Service.

No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
